Library Online Catalog Evaluation Project

Project Overview

CCS is evaluating three discovery layer platforms—Aspen, Bibliocore, and Vega Discover—to enhance library search and user experience. This project builds on extensive user testing, patron feedback, and system evaluation to ensure the selected platform meets the needs of both library staff and patrons.

Role of Database Management (DBM)

The Database Management team plays a crucial role in this evaluation. DBM members will assess key system features, provide feedback through a structured scoring rubric, and contribute insights based on their expertise in managing library data and discovery interfaces. Their input will shape the final recommendation for CCS libraries.

Vendor Demonstrations

Library staff are invited to attend live demonstrations from the shortlisted vendors. These sessions will showcase each platform’s capabilities, with a focus on patron-facing features.
